Bulletin August 2013

-Help is needed for the set-up and tear-down at Old Home Week. If you can help, please contact the secretary. Also, there are times when people are needed to look after the poultry area. If you can help there, please let me know.

-Old Home Week exhibitors are reminded that you should be prepared to remove your entries on Wednesday night around 5:00.

-ATTENTION DUNDAS EXHIBITORS: The barn will be open to receive entries on Thursday evening until 9:00. The barn will be open no later than 9:00 PM and will open on Friday morning.

It is hard to believe that we are into August. The summer is slipping by all so quickly. As I prepare this, Old Home Week is a very short time away and Dundas slips in right after. Fall can’t be too far away.

We have had a good start to the summer fair season. Both of the July shows were up in numbers. It was great to see exhibitors pitch in and help out in various ways at both of these shows. It was great to walk into Crapaud this year and have all the cages up and bedded.

As mentioned earlier, help for the set up of the Old Home Week show is requested. Hopefully we can start to work around 8:00 on that Saturday evening. With a good crew, it won’t take long to get it done. Exhibitors are also asked if possible to stay on the coop-out night and help with the tear down. Any amount of time would be appreciated.

Here are some interesting articles on chickens and pigeons…
Chickens cleverer than toddlers
Pigeons have built-in maps in their heads

See you at the shows!
