August is now upon us. The summer is quickly slipping away! Old Home Week is now only a short time away. As every Islander knows … when Old Home Week is over so is summer!!
The poultry shows at Murray River and Crapaud were well supported. Numbers were up at both shows from the previous year. I must comment on the group of exhibitors who helped out with the set-up and tear-down at Crapaud. It was great to see so many help out.
Volunteers are greatly needed for the set-up of the show at Old Home Week on Saturday, August 11. We hope to begin around 7:30. If you can help out, PLEASE come. We have a very good show by the looks of things this year. Numbers are up. It looks like we will have what will be the largest dove show ever on the Island!! This should provide some added interest in the show.
Word has it that feed prices will be on the rise this fall and winter due to the hot, dry summer in so many areas of North America. The weather has not been kind to the crops. This may mean a harder fall cull for many poultry people.
See you at the shows.
