Bulletin March 2012


-Our fifteenth annual show for BANTAM CHICKENS, BANTAM DUCKS, and PIGEONS is planned for April 7 in conjunction with the Annual Meeting. The entry form is enclosed with this month`s newsletter.

Date: Saturday, April 7, 2012

Location: Northumberland Arena, Murray River

Coop-in: Prior to 10:00 A.M. on the day of the show.

Coop-out: After the conclusion of the Annual Meeting.

Meeting time: 12:30 P.M. Lunch will be available prior to the meeting.

Entry fee: $1.00 per entry and $5.00 for lunch. Fees to be sent with entry.

All colours of each breed will be shown together unless there are four or more of a colour shown. If four or more are shown, a colour class will be made.

Birds will be placed from first to fourth. A Best of Breed will be selected in each breed. Ribbons will be available upon request.

Trophies will be awarded for Champion and Reserve Chicken, Duck, and Pigeon. Trophies will also be awarded for the Grand Champion of the Show and Champion Junior Exhibit.

All those planning to attend the lunch are asked to send your $5.00 fee in by the deadline for entries. We need to know how many to prepare for. This includes those who are not showing.

Entries close March 28, 2012.

Chickens must be vaccinated for I.L.T. and banded.

-What a great Winter Show we had this year! Numbers were up by about 50%, the birds were in good condition (not an easy thing for this time of year), and there were a number of strong classes. And it goes without saying that the lunch was excellent.

-Plan to attend the annual meeting. If there is one meeting a year that members should plan to attend it is the annual meeting. Come early, take in the show, and have lunch (only $5)! T. MacDonald

-There are still some Spring Show awards needing sponsors. If you are interested in sponsoring an award, contact the secretary. They cost $20 each.

-A very special THANK YOU to Jim and Donna Butler for hosting the Winter Show. We had a great day and enjoyed a great meal.
